Accountant

Profit Plus

Function:

As a brand ambassador, the Accountant provides financial services to our internal divisions and clients. They prepare financial reports to track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities. This role is critical to the financial knowledge and well-being of multiple companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
  • Prepares balance sheets, income statements and profit and loss statements
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books
  • Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • Files required tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies
  • As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Updates and provides reporting metrics
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients

Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Restaurant accounting experience a plus
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Highly proficient with ERP systems – Great Plains, MS Dynamics or Quickbooks Online a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain deadlines, despite setbacks
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Ability to switch between projects, clients and physical requirements quickly

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and being in front of a computer monitor

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
  • Two or more years of accounting experience required

Sales Support Specialist

As a brand ambassador, the Sales Support Specialist performs clerical, internal sales, inventory management and other client and sales support tasks. This role is critical to the development, implementation and adherence to processes and procedures that improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates periodic sales programs and promotions
  • Initiates purchase orders and follows them through to completion
  • Compiles materials and coordinates activities related to special events such as trade shows and anticipated product release
  • Develops and maintains files, both physically and electronically
  • Confers with vendors and brokers regarding programs and purchase orders
  • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to the pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
  • Establishes and maintains a backup source for high-demand items
  • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery
  • Updates and provides reporting metrics
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients and vendors
  • Maintains accurate records of goods received and shipments made
  • Manages and maintains the inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the COO
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of inventory
  • Is an active participant in physical inventory audits and shipping

Custom Foods, Inc. – a local, privately-owned frozen dough manufacturer, is looking for a Sales Representative to help grow its’ customer base and increase sales.

Requirements for Consideration Include:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of two years of selling/revenue generation experience – preferably in the food industry
  • Demonstrated success at both finding/closing new accounts and management of existing accounts

Job Description:

Help grow Custom Foods’ sales primarily via an outside sales approach with an emphasis on chain accounts. This is a B2B sales position. Targeted segments include grocery chains, restaurant chains, hospitals, schools, concessioners, convenience store chains, etc. Focus is on chain and institutional sales – not independent operators. The geographic territory is flexible – with an emphasis in the Midwest. Some travel is required.

Compensation:

  • $30,000 – $40,000 base salary (depending on track-record and experience)
  • Variable commission structure – range of 1.5% – 3.0% of account revenue on new business based on the sourcing of account & account profitability.
